English-born Australian radio broadcaster and writer. John Cargher presented the weekly 'Singers of renown' program on ABC radio without a break between 1966 and 2008, as well as 'Music for pleasure' for thirty years from 1967. Cargher was made a member of the Order of Australia in 1987 for services to the performing arts.
